Life from the eyes of a six year old…

Our daughter loves her camera. Her camera gives her the opportunity to capture moments and then share them with the people she loves. She also loves to document her images in the kiimento book that she received with her camera. I highly recommend purchasing it as well.

Such a great concept but buggy

My child loves this camera. He wants to take it everywhere. It encourages him to look at items differently and has a newfound attention to detail, focusing on smaller things instead of the bigger picture.

Now my child's first complaint is there is no Zoom function on it, no optical, no digital. Absolutely no Zoom. Which is frustrating to him and me because of he wants to capture a bird or say a river where you don't want to go into harms way, you need to go right up close which most of the time, is not a viable option. Many tears have been shed because of the one that gets away.

Secondly, the camera taking noise verses when the actual photo are taken are not in sync. So as soon as that noise happens, kids will move the camera away, causing a lot of blurred photos. The focus to actual photo taking time has a huge delay like a couple of seconds. Try and tell a child that the sound cue is incorrect and you need to stay there for longer... Doesn't happen.

And thirdly, it crashes like a lot! We have had this camera for a month and a half now and it's crashed and locked up three times. One time it corrupted the SD Card and my child lost all photos and videos. Again, lots of tears because they are lost memories. Like last night, we are out at the car races and he is recording a video and as soon as he stopped it, the screen went multicoloured and the camera was non-functional. It took us about five minutes of trying to work out how to hard reset it (pro tip, pressing power and photo button for over a minute worked for that purpose) so it is very buggy.

I am very thankful that there are no games on the camera because I believe the camera would become near on unusable if there was. Not enough memory to sustain that. But they can focus on the important things, photos.

Now I need to try and back this thing up before we lose even more data from it and even that is proving a problem. Oh look, the camera isn't saying to move into mass storage mode and there is no real troubleshooting for this in the FAQ... SIGH.

Thank you very much for taking the time to share your concerns and detailed feedback with us. We truly appreciate it.

Thank you for your suggestion regarding the zoom function. When we designed this camera, our primary goal was to create an easy-to-use camera that allows kids to start taking photos effortlessly. Zoom is considered a more advanced feature, and we will certainly take your feedback into consideration for future, more advanced camera models.

Regarding your second concern, the slight 1–2 second delay occurs because the camera is using auto-focus. During this time, it adjusts the focus and optimizes the image to ensure better clarity, color balance, and overall stability. If you prefer a faster shutter response, you may turn off the auto-focus function in the settings, which will make the photo capture noticeably quicker.

As for exporting photos from the camera to a computer, we recommend using an SD card reader, which tends to be more stable. Some cables may have limitations or compatibility issues that can affect the connection.

Thank you again for sharing your experience with us. Your feedback is very valuable and helps us improve our products.
